Lyra is a visual artist with a BA in Fine Arts working primarily in Platinum Photography. During her education, she discovered alternative process photography, falling in love with the tactile, physical, sensual, and unpredictable nature of these, for the most part discarded, media. Lyra was particularly captivated by platinum and its range, unique aesthetic, and the physicality of the process. While completing her degree, Lyra taught herself to print using platinum and produced Somatics, a body of work for her thesis which showed at Blackfish gallery in Portland, OR. Since graduation Lyra has produced a large body of work and numerous series in platinum.
Lyra also works in installation, sculpture, fabric, and mixed media. She has been commissioned to create installation, craft, and lighting pieces for private individuals and commercial spaces.
